Creating a Static IP Address in Windows 7

Video included. I think I will make an article about this and explain what a static IP address is, if you need it, and the advantages and disadvantages of having one. For now, without any of these details present, I am attaching my video tutorial on the subject matter. It is very detailed, so you should be able to follow along without any problems.

Video included. The title on this post is taken from my YouTube tutorial. I don't neccessarily need to mention version 7. I can't remember doing it any other way in the previous versions either. The video tutorial pretty much explains it all. But I might come back and edit this post and include an article on the same subject. For now, my conclusion is that if you have found this post you already have a reason for wanting to know what your local IP address is. So I am not going into why you might need it. Just remember that the local IP address is not the IP address the rest of the world sees. That would be your external IP address.

I am not exactly sure where I am going with this blog. For now, it will be exactly what the title indicates: Computer and Home Networking Tidbits.

This is the first time I am combining Blogger with Google+. I have googled a few of the advantages and disadvantages of doing this. I haven't reach any conclusion, but I have decided to give it a try.
